About The Adaptive

The Adaptive is a solo and collaborative music project created by Shane Cotee.

Live instrumentation, modern technology, and a huge variety of global sounds gives The Adaptive a style best described as “World Bass Music” or “Electroacoustic Global Fusion.” Elements from downtempo bass music, post-rock, ambient, chillout, dubstep, blues, classical, and ethnic music are heard throughout The Adaptive’s official releases.
Recent highlights for Shane and The Adaptive include a guest guitar solo on Ott’s massively successful album “Fairchildren”; live performances alongside artists like Phutureprimitive, Bluetech, Kalya Scintilla, Random Rab, and Living Light, and a successful 5-song EP from a triple-producer collaboration known as Infinite Brothers (with Cody Sparks and Stratosphere).
Recent festival performances include Cosmic Convergence Festival (Lake Atitlan, Guatemala), Munduzer Festival (Goodyear, Arizona), Blooming Heart Festival (Orcas Island, Washington).
Upcoming live events include the renowned Pacific Northwest festival called Imagine Music & Arts Festival (Orcas Island, Washington) and a highly-anticipated new festival, Unify Fest (Santa Fe, New Mexico).
